Nigeria’s U-23 team, on Saturday defeated Denmark 2-0, to qualify for the semi-final of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil. Captain of the side, Mikel John Obi, opened scoring early in the first half, following superb wing play from Imoh Ezekiel.
The Siasia side were able to score a decisive second goal in the second half. Mikel Obi’s corner kick was glanced in by Aminu Umar.
And following that victory, Nigeria will now face Germany in the Semi-finals on Wednesday. Germany defeated Portugal 4-0 on her way to the final.
