Nigerians and some other students on Twitter have called on Experts in the field of Geology, Meteorology Geography and other relating fields to explain to the public what happened in Akure of Ondo state.

A blast occurred on Akure-Owo Road which was suspected to be from a meteorite.
Like meteorites, the blast left a crater.
Photographs published online from the scene, at a village near Akure Airport revealed the crater.

However, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu tweeted this morning he was on his way to the scene of a strange massive blast that rocked Akure, Ondo State capital overnight.

“I’ve been briefed by security agencies in the state concerning the loud blast that was heard in Akure. I will be at the scene to assess the advice of the heads of our security agencies.
“I ask that all citizens remain calm as we ascertain details of the incidence”.
Many residents rushed to the scene early today.

Ordinarily, the 1st respondents to this site shoul have been our security agents, cordon off the place, invite the Scientists, Geologists, Archaeologists from FUTA as a 1st level, invite from the relevant Federal agencies etc
