Chelsea defender, David Luiz, has issued out warning to Premier League title rivals, Liverpool and Manchester City following his side’s 1-0 defeat to Leicester City on Saturday.
A second half goal from striker, Jamie Vardy ensured Leicester City defeated Maurizio Sarri’s men at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are 11 now points off Premier League leaders, Liverpool on the log and seven points behind second place, Man City.
But Luiz, has now warned Jurgen Klopp’s men and Pep Guardiola’s side that Chelsea can still challenge for the English topflight league title this campaign, adding that “anything can happen”.
“Everybody knows the Premier League is so difficult, we have to think step by step,” Luiz told Sky Sports News.
“Of course the boss tries to give us the maths and to give us one direction to follow and we trying to get the points to be there and fighting for the title not just for the top four.”
“Yes, I think so but with humility, with our feet on the ground, thinking step by step,” Luiz added.
“Of course we lost some points and it could be better for us at the moment but everybody knows in this league everybody can win against everybody.
“It’s not my first Premier League season so I know anything can happen.”
Chelsea will tackle Watford on Boxing Day in their next Premier League fixture.
