Panic At Stamford Bridge As Two New Chelsea Stars Set To Miss Start Of New Season Over Terrible Injuries

Chelsea will be without two of their new signings when the new Premier League season kicks off this weekend.

The Blues brought in a number of quality players to improve their squad for competition next campaign, but the duo of Hakim Ziyech and Ben Chilwell are out due to injuries.

Both stars will be missing when Frank Lampard’s men travel to the Amex Stadium on Monday, September 14.

Ziyech was helped out of the pitch in the 54th minute during a preseason match against Brighton last month – a game where Werner opened his goal account for his new side.
Meanwhile, former Leicester City star who moved to Stamford Bridge in a deal around £50 million has been out since late last season due to a heel problem.

SunSport quoting The Athletic report that both stars will miss the start of the new campaign but added that Chilwell has started training on his own at Cobham.

He last featured for the Foxes in their 3-0 win over Crystal Palace on July 4, where he was substituted off at half-time.

However, he managed to pass medical and complete his move to Stamford Bridge despite still healing up from the injury he picked up.

His absence will now give either Cesar Azpilicueta and Reece James a chance to start having recovered from slight knocks. Christian Pulisic, who was stretched out of Chelsea’s FA Cup defeat to Arsenal could be back for the Blues against Brighton.

The 21-year-old came back early from a terrible hamstring injury and should join the full training sessions this week. And he could be handed the jersey number 10 last worn by Willian.
