The Nigeria Center for Disease Control(NCDC) has announced that Lagos State for the first time recorded its highest cases in a day, 256 COVID-19 cases.
The agency confirmed this in a tweet on its official Twitter page.
On Wednesday Nigeria recorded three hundred and eighty-nine, 389, COVID-19 cases in the country having Lagos in the lead.
Katsina State followed with 23 cases, while Edo recorded 22.
With this development, Nigeria has 8733 confirmed cases of the disease.
This high number of cases announced by NCDC became alarming to Nigerian Twitter users as they took to the microblogging site to share their thoughts.
Below are their reactions
New cases, 389 recorded in Nigeria, 256 in Lagos alone. This is very scary, what’s really happening in Lagos? If not very necessary, please #StayAtHome, when no any other option but to go out, wear a mask and abide by all NCDC guidelines. #StaySafe!

Nigerian government do not have any plan for pandemic. They locked down because others are locking down. They are opening because others are opening even though the numbers are increasing. There is no plan, no idea, no procedure just Boss mustapha meanwhile 256 in Lagos

In a few months, you won't need the NCDC's stats (counts) to remind you that we are in the middle of a life altering pandemic; the worst of our life time: You will likely know multiple people personally who have either fallen severly ill or (God forbid) died from it. 256 in Lagos https://t.co/S5wlRLCmmb
