Nigerians are angry with the federal government over the importation of Madagascar’s vaccination which has now attracted a cost of N71m.
According to reports, the island nation has asked Nigeria to pay €170,000 (N71Million) for the consignment delivered by Guinea Bissau President Umaro Sissoco Embalo.
Recall that Embalo visited President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House in Abuja on Saturday, brought the drugs allocated to Nigeria.
During late March, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja Il recommended tested herbs for the treatment of Coronavirus pandemic but the government didn’t let the public know if they actually did something about it or not.
As Madagascar’s vaccine now cost N71m, many Nigerians who believe that Nigeria has traditional doctors that can produce a far better native drink that can cure the virus better than that of Madagascar’s own took to their social media pages to express their thoughts.

Some even sighted Ooni’s proposed herbal remedy as an example that the Nigerian government should have built on along with other native doctors like Dr Abalaka.
Meanwhile, Madagascar has registered its first coronavirus death.
Below are some of the reactions of Nigerians;
@Hajigold- “MADAGASCAR’S ”SOLUTION TO COVID19”1. NEEM LEAF (DOGOYARO) 2. PAWPAW LEAF 3. LIME ORANGE 4. GARLIC AND 5. GINGER. BOIL TOGETHER AND TAKE IT 3X PER DAY. PLS, PASS IT TO OTHERS.
“Imagine! All this is what Ooni of ife , first gave as advice to the Federal government… But they refused.”
@Drolufunmilayo – “If we are so desperate to use herbs, why not simply use our own locally sourced herbs? Why not develop our own herbal therapy, test it using international scientific standards, make sure it is clinically safe and use it. Why not invest in our ow? .This is national stupidity.”
@Chigooluwasegun – “Ooni of Ife previously said COVID 19 can be effectively treated with local herbs, Nigerians laughed at him but the same Nigerians are the ones clamouring for Nigeria to purchase the herbal mixture from Madagascar.”
@Mzyezzy – “I remembered when Ooni of ife listed herbs to treat coronavirus. The modern-day stupid Woke youth dragged the man to filth. But today they are praising Madagascar Cure. You see how A lot of Nigerian Youths are really stupid and dense??? Idiot folks”
@Onyiforlife -” Madagascar has sent Nigeria a bill of €170,000 (N71 million) for the packages of the Coronavirus medicine they supplied to Nigeria. And so? All the Abacha’s loot since 2015 Buhari embezzling can afford it. Some idiots, Hypocrites didn’t allow ooni of Ife to work on herbs 🌿”
@Lanre_wajuu – “One thing beats me o. Ooni of ife said covid-19 could be treated/prevented tradomedically. He got crazily attacked on this app. “With his level of education” yen yen yen. Now, these same people are shouting Madagascar cure. Shey den take importation swear for us?”
After you all condemned Ooni drug, you’re all running back to him after seeing the 78 million naira billing Madagascar gave Nigeria for supplying unconfirmed ewe ati egbo drinks for us 😂😂😂
If only we listened to the Ooni when he said it can be cured by local herbs. pic.twitter.com/sMGL1LPmrh

Can we drop the sentiments for once?
All drugs, herbal or not should be subjected to scientific scrutiny to ensure not just their efficacy but also their safety.
It doesn't matter whether it's coming from Madagascar or from the Ooni.
It's the right thing to do.

Kind of funny how Madagascar is using local herbs to cure corona virus and people were making the Ooni’s statement look like a joke.
A lot of minds are still colonised it would seem.

Everyone is concerns about the money Madagascar is asking our government to pay for their drugs. Now their brain automatically triggered and remember when Ooni of Ife was talking about herbs to cure Covid 19. We must pay Madagascar that money, we are Afrikans anyway.

With the tweets gathered by Benconews, Nigerians are of the opinion that the federal government should support the traditional doctors to develop its own herbal therapy, test it using international scientific standards and make sure it is clinically safe to use for covid-19 Patients.
