Adebayo “Bayo” O. Ogunlesi was born on December 20, 1953 (age 66) in Sagamu, Ogun, Nigeria.

Bayo is the son of Theophilus O. Ogunlesi, the first Nigerian professor of medicine at University of Ibadan

He attended the prestigious King’s College, Lagos. He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association. He was a lecturer at Harvard Law School.

He received a B.A. with first-class honours in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University in England.

He is married to a British-born optometrist, Dr Amelia Quist-Ogunlesi in 1985. They are blessed with two children.

Adebayo Ogunlesi is currently the Chairman and Managing Partner at the private equity firm Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP).
