In spite the hype, stardom, splendor and wealth, star actress Elizabeth Ibukunoluwa Anjorin fondly called Lizzy Anjorin is the girl next door to you. She is one of the very few blessed with humility and discernment despite the fame; an attribute she said she had mastered from childhood.
But interestingly to know, Benconews.com investigation revealed that while growing up, Lizzy never enjoyed riches though her father was wealthy. Her mother and father had a misunderstanding which resulted into their separation. Even as the estranged couple lives individually, the little girl had to suffer the consequence as the father was not willing to cater for her. At a point, the father died and family members had to seize all the deceased’s properties, leaving the fate of the future star hanging. How, then, did she survive the turbulent times?
Lizzy said: “Things were very difficult at that point. I had to hawk all sort of food items around the street for survival. I was a shameless hawker that was very determined to give poverty a fight to attain my success. But I thank God for today,” she recalled in tears.
But today, her story could be tagged ‘from grass to grace.’ Aside her blossoming acting career which has really fetched her millions of naira, the proud mother of one is one of the top notch actresses living a flamboyant life in the Yoruba genre of movie. She also lives in an N3m a year rent mansion in Lagos, drives a Murano car and owns a full loaded shop County bus-stop, Ogba, Lagos way where she sells all sorts of fashion items and drinks.
Motivationally speaking, the light-skinned actress advised: “I was the least person expected to be successful in life in my area based on my poor background, but God has proved them wrong. My advice for anybody undergoing trials at the moment is to be steadfast in prayer, to be focused on whatever you are doing and be hard working.’
The Badagry, Lagos State-born actress came into prominence after starring in a Yoruba flick, entitled Iyawo Ojo Kan, and had since featured in numerous movies.
