Fuji musician, Abass Akande popularly known as Obesere has shot the musical video for his controversial album entitled ‘Ingrate.’ The video was shot last night at choice locations in Lagos by talented director, Dr. Bee. Dr. Bee has been responsible for most of Obesere’s hit videos, most especially Ebelesua featuring rap star, Olamide.
The album, ‘Ingrate,’ has been tagged ‘controversial’ as it centers on the acclaimed Fuji King, K1 De Ultimate. It would be recalled that Obesere dropped the album to tackle K1’s controversial claims that the late Sikiru Ayinde Barrister did not originate Fuji music as widespread. K1’s argument was that there were Fuji musicians before Barrister, but he (Barrister) only modified the brand. This statement was made in K1’s album entitled ‘Flavour.’ It was released during Barrister’s lifetime and the deceased didn’t even counter the claims until his demise. But early this year, K1’s claim was revisited by many Fuji lovers and it has received barrages of mixed reactions as some believed the Fuji King does not have all the details as regarding Fuji creation. But majority of the fans and Fuji practitioners including Obesere believe K1 is an ingrate as he was said to have learnt everything he knows about Fuji music while serving as a packer under the deceased.
Meanwhile, lest we forget, Obesere as you read is planning a tour of America after many years. According to findings, the musician is billed to leave the shores of the country early next month.
