Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun has refused to resume to the governor’s office left by his predecessor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun. According to findings, the governor is currently operating from the office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) tucked inside Ogun State Secretariat, Oke-Imosan, Abeokuta, while the SSG has moved to the office of the former commissioner for special duties. Benconews’ source said the governor is currently planning to build a befitting office where he would operate from in the future.
While many are still bewildered with this action taken by the governor, those familiar with Ogun politics are of the opinion that this could be as a result of the long rivalry and bitter feud between Amosun and Abidoun during the wake of the election and electioneering and also during the handing over process.
A trusted source close to the governor told benconews that Abiodun’s action could have also been as a result of their bitter war. “With all that transpired between the two, do you expect Oga (Abiodun) to resume in that office? He needs to be cautious and protects himself from any spiritual attack. You never can tell; this is politics,” he said.
Meanwhile, upper Saturday, Abiodun was said to have invited some pastors in the state capital, Abeokuta to pray at the Consortium for the Administration of Salaries and Pensions (CASP), for better financial impact.
Benconews’ source said since Abiodun came to power, he’s been struggling and borrowing to pay salaries and this he felt is the handwork of his enemies.
It would be recalled that Prince Dapo Abiodun after his victory at the polls visited the General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye where he presented his Certificate of Return to him, also seeking for his blessings and prayers.
