Mikel Arteta has said that he was surprised by Arsenal players’ display in their Premier League victory over Manchester United on Sunday.
He said his boys showed a lot of emotional control when they were 1-0 down to Manchester United and stayed focused.
“I love this personality the players showed. We found the opening to win the game,” Arteta told BBC.
“They do surprise me with how they react. We encourage them to play free-flowing football and there is energy in the team and good things happen.”
The Spaniard said the way his team played against Manchester United gives him a lot of positivity for the future.
The former Manchester City assistant coach said the Gunners are now focusing on the next game, adding “If we can capitalise on the energy, it will be positive.”
