Cholera Outbreak Kills 16 In Central African Republic

At least 16 people have died from cholera in the Central African Republic and there have been 66 recorded cases since the beginning of August.

Health minister Fernande Ndjeng-bot says the government is working with the World Health Organisation and UN Children’s Agency to isolate the disease and provide clean water, medicine and aid to the communities.

The ministry’s emergency health report said the outbreak had also spread to Congo’s Libi area where 34 people have died and there are 387 suspected cases.
