Chelsea returned to winning ways last night in the English premiership after defeating Tottenham Hotspurs at Stamford bridge by 2 goals to nil.
The Blues were put in front by Pedro who curled in the ball into the net after receiving a pass from the captain, Cesar Azpilicueta.
Tottenham replied with some brilliant performances in front of goal, but the Chelsea defense led by David Luis and Antonio Rudiger were up to the task.
Chelsea has Pedro to thank for blocking Eriksen from scoring an equaliser.
The match was put beyond draw with an own goal by Tottenham’s Kleran Trippier, as a result of lack of communication between him and his goalkeeper, Hugo Lloris.
With the win, Chelsea closed the gap between the club, Arsenal and Manchester United who are currently occupying the 4th and 5th position respectively, and with a game in hand.
It would be recalled that Chelsea lost their last match in the Carabao cup final to Manchester City on penalties by 3-4.
