BREAKING: First Result In Imo Governorship Election Emerges


The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the Imo State Guber election, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, has won the first polling unit result to emerge from the state.


The PDP secured victory at Community School, Obodo, Araimo ward in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State.

The party polled 77 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC), which trailed with 17 votes while the Labour Party secured four votes.

Earlier when he cast his vote at polling unit 012, Ama Imo Community Primary School in Ikeduru LGA, Samuel Anynawu, PDP gubernatorial candidate, said he was hopeful of victory.

Benco news reports that the major candidates include Anyanwu of the PDP, Governor Hope Uzodimma of the APC and Athan Achonu of the Labour Party.
