Barcelona Vs Real Madrid: El Clasico Missing Stars, Significance Resulting To Loss Of Interests

There was a time, not too long ago, when the El Clasico was the most watched football fixture globally.

The players on parade included Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Thierry Henry, Sergio Ramos, Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Dani Alves.

However, on Sunday at the Nou Camp, we will be watching the likes of Ansu Fati, Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, Pedri and Valverde.

Not to take anything away from them, but the number of eyeballs that will tune in to watch Sunday’s LaLiga clash between Barcelona and Real Madrid, will be nothing spectacular.

The absence of genuinely superstar footballers has reduced El Clasico to another random game in the Spanish top flight.

Not only that the league is being stripped of these big names, but games between Real Madrid and Barcelona no longer decide who wins the title.

It is now for bragging rights between two eternal rivals.

Barca can get a morale-boosting victory or will Madrid pile up more woe for Ronald Koeman?

Ahead of the game, the Catalans have won back-to-back games for the first time this season.

Los Blancos’ form has not been great either. Their 5-0 Champions League win at Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday gave them a boost ahead of this match. But they went three games in a row without a victory before the international break.

Even the dying buzz, there are three points up for grabs. And although Madrid are slight favourites, Barcelona will be banking on home advantage to win for pride at least.
